Step 1 Mowing
Step 2 Aerate
Step 3 Apply
HYDROSAND is substantially enhanced by core aeration of the turf which relieves compaction, adds deeper oxygen exchange throughout the soil and root zone allowing a better absorption.
Consider removing the cores from the lawn surface. If the soil is not too bad, but you can leave the cores on the grass to break down naturally.
Mow your lawn down as much as possible. Slicing the growth down to a short and uniform level will allow it to reach an equal distribution of HYDROSAND and achieve the perfect result
Spread HYDROSAND evenly over lawn to a depth of 1/2 to 1 inch. Fill in holes lightly brush the grass with the backside of a rake. The object is to get as much HYDROSAND touching the soil as possible.
After applying HYDROSAND, water the area generously so Hydrosand particles will fully load with water then set your irrigation timer half the time it was running before.
And Star Saving Water!
Note: you may readjust your timer even for less irrigation time according to the moisture your lawn is retaining.
